How Trip Watch works
Most fare alert services send a weekly list of deals to places you may never go. Trip Watch works the other way around. You tell us the one trip you are actually planning: the island, roughly when, who is coming and where you fly from. From then on we check that route every day and only email you when something is worth acting on.
Before you book: know when to buy
Every day we look up the cheapest fares seen recently from your home airport to your island. We compare them with what that route usually costs. When a fare drops under the price you set, or well under typical, you get one short email with the fare, the typical range and a link to see the flights. No daily noise, and never more than one fare email every few days.
After you book: catch a price drop
Already bought your tickets? Tell us the airline and what you paid. Many US airlines let main cabin travelers change to the same flight at a lower fare and keep the difference as travel credit. Basic economy usually cannot be changed. If the fare on your route falls well below what you paid, we let you know so you can check with your airline. Airline rules vary and change; always confirm with your airline before making changes.
The countdown: book what sells out
Rental cars on the islands get expensive and can sell out close to the date. Popular tours like the Kona manta ray night snorkel, Mauna Kea stargazing and the best luaus fill up weeks ahead. Trip Watch sends a short reminder about 60 days out for cars, about 30 days out for tours, and a week before you fly with your island guide.
Good to know
- Prices shown are the cheapest one way fares seen recently and can change before you book. We do not sell tickets; you book directly with the airline or travel site.
- Some routes, especially to the neighbor islands, have fewer recent fares. We say so instead of guessing.
- Some links are affiliate links. They cost you nothing extra and help keep this service free.
- We use your email only for your Trip Watch. Every email has a one click link to stop all Trip Watch emails. See our privacy policy.
